Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) has occurred in about 57,800 people in 63 provinces of Vietnam since the beginning of the year, with 29 deaths in 14 provinces, said an update yesterday from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Indonesia's health ministry today announced the death of an 8-year-old girl from an H5N1 avian influenza infection, according to a report from the Jakarta Globe. The girl, from West Java province, got sick on Jun 18 during a trip to Singapore.
