OFF the PRESS: 2008-2009 Report of the ASEAN Plus Three EID Programme

The 2008-2009 Report of the ASEAN Plus Three Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) Programme is now available in print and in the website

This Report covers progress over the 18-month period (January 2008 to June 2009) and highlights the various outcomes and contributions of the ASEAN Plus Three EID Programme to the initiatives in combating infectious diseases in the region.

The 2008-2009 Programme Report describes how the ASEAN Secretariat promoted integrated approaches, multi-sectoral collaboration and multi-country involvement in addressing infectious diseases, while at the same time, complementing regional and national priorities. The Report also illustrates how the strengthened and collective capacity of ASEAN was put into action during the recent Influenza A(H1N1) pandemic.

The ASEAN Secretariat thanks all the ASEAN Member States , Plus Three Countries and technical partners for the consistent support to the various activities of the Programme.

Appreciation is especially extended to the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) for the strategic partnership and financial support to our public health programmes.

The Information Centre on Emerging Infectious Diseases in the ASEAN Plus Three Countries was developed under the ASEAN Plus Three Emerging Infectious Diseases Programme of the ASEAN Secretariat, managed by the Indonesia Ministry of Health with financial assistance from Australian AID (AusAID)
