Third Programme Coordination Group Meeting of the ASEAN Plus Three EID Programme on 18-20 November 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The ASEAN Plus Three Emerging lnfectious Diseases (EID) Programme is on its last year of implementation. As part of its implementation design, the 3rd Programme Coordination Group (PCG) Meeting will be held on 18-20 November 2009 in
Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia, as one of its culminating activities.
The 3rd PCG Meeting has the following objectives 1) to provide an update on the progress of programme implementation; 2) to identify outcomes/impact of the Phase II of the Programme; 3) to develop a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework of the Medium-Term Plan (2010-2015) of the Phase Ill of the Programme, following previous consultations with the Member States and the Plus Three Countries; and 4) to identify the activities within the last months of Programme's Phase II implementation and in the transition toward the Phase Ill of the Programme.
The PCG is the body with overall responsibility for planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the Programme's progress. It is composed of the ASEAN Expert Group on Communicable Diseases (AEGCD) Focal Points, representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat, Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), World Health Organization (WHO), World Organization for Animal Health (or OIE) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
To maximise the participation of the Member States, the ASEAN-Europe Foundation (ASEF) will also convene its consultation with the ASEAN representatives on 16-17 November 2009, back-to-back with the PCG Meeting.
