Wednesday, 20 May 2009

The ASEAN Assessment on Multi-sectoral Pandemic Preparedness and Response will be held on 1-5 June 2009 in Jakarta.  The pilot assessment in Indonesia will be later followed by country assessments in other ASEAN Member States. The Assessment will be done based on the ASEAN non-health pandemic preparedness and response indicators earlier developed by a small working group in Kuala Lumpur on 21-22 August 2008.   Based on the assessment results, activities to strengthen capacity and institutions will be recommended.

The Pilot Assessment will be held for five days: the first two days (1-2 June 2009) will be allocated for training for the assessment teams and the remaining three days (3-5 June 2009) for the pilot assessment itself.
